Chevrolet consistently produces great, long-lasting cars and trucks, but some are more popular as used vehicles than others. The Silverado, Equinox, and Traverse are among the best Chevy models to buy used.

Silverado 1500

The Chevy Silverado is a consistently strong seller, so it is easy to find used models. The Silverado was redesigned in 2014 (third generation) and 2019 (fourth generation). The third generation was the first to include a 420-hp, 6.2-liter V8 engine and offer four-wheel drive on all models. The fourth generation includes six engine choices, the groundbreaking Multi-Flex Tailgate, and loads of infotainment updates.

Equinox

The Chevrolet Equinox is a consistent winner of awards for safety, value and has been chosen numerous times as the best family SUV and the best car for teen-age drivers. Consumer Reports listed the Equinox as a Best Used Car Under $20,000 in the Midsize SUV category from 2016 through 2018. The amount of rear-seat room, great handling, smooth ride and efficient noise control were outstanding features.

Traverse

The three-row Traverse was introduced in 2009 and redesigned in 2018. The first generation is generally considered a responsive and comfortable ride with a 3.6-liter V6 engine. The second generation added an optional turbocharged 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine. The Traverse comes with Drive Mode Select for changing traction situations, many driver safety features and Chevrolet’s Teen Driver system.
